Description

This is a Bizen ash-covered sake cup from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. Utilizing the sensibilities he has honed while challenging himself with the input and output of ancient Bizen pottery, he has created a dynamic form that evokes a free-spirited and bold style. True to Morimoto's approach of challenging the masterpieces of ancient ceramics, the piece features a powerful form that feels like a miniaturized tea bowl. The intensity of the firing, characteristic of the ash-covered series, remains intact, with an elegant ash-covered finish centered around a magnificent "nuke" (uncovered area). Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
