Description
This is an Ibe sake cup from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. Utilizing the sensibilities honed through his challenges in processing and recreating ancient Bizen pottery, the artist has created a dynamic piece that exudes a free-spirited and bold style. True to Morimoto's approach of challenging the masterpieces of ancient ceramics, the piece features a powerful form that feels like a miniature tea bowl. The thick, rich yellow sesame glaze flows down the surface, creating a striking and sophisticated aesthetic.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 6.6cm x 6.3cm x Height 5.8cm
