Description
This is a Hidasuki hexagonal sake cup from Yoshinobu Morimoto's latest exhibition. It is part of a series that expresses the world of Chaji (tea ceremony), featuring high-status utensils used in Chakaiseki meals, reimagined in the Bizen style. It is a creative reinterpretation of the prestigious Kiseto hexagonal sake cup, which would typically be served alongside a sake decanter, and truly embodies the inventive spirit of a "creative reproduction." The cup has been fired with Hidasuki (fire-cord) markings that account for the orientation of the piece and the aesthetic of the interior, resulting in a perfectly balanced appearance from every angle. Beyond its stunning visual appeal, its high affinity for moisture, characteristic of Bizen clay, allows it to reach its true potential through use, and as it is cherished over time, the piece itself will develop and grow, offering endless enjoyment.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included.
Diameter 7.9cm x 7.8cm x Height 4.9cm
