Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Keiji Yoshikawa, an artist who encountered various types of ceramics across Japan at a young age and was so captivated by the work of Anjin Abe that he decided to follow in his footsteps. The piece features a unique, alluring form that resembles a miniature cylindrical tea bowl, embodying a quiet yet dynamic style imbued with subtle movements inspired by Momoyama-period Bizen. The surface is adorned with rich, viscous yellow sesame glaze (kigoma) created through repeated firings. The texture of the clay, particularly on the foot and interior, has a profound, chocolate-like quality born from firing the resilient mountain clay multiple times.
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).
