Description
This is a Bizen sake cup from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. Drawing on the sensibilities refined through his persistent input and output study of antique Bizen ware, he has created a piece with a vibrant, dynamic form that conveys a sense of free-spirited vitality. True to Morimoto's style of challenging the masterpieces of antique ceramics, the form is as impactful as a miniature tea bowl. The casually emerged "hiiro" (scarlet) clay coloration exudes a wonderful allure, and the combination of the powerful form and the expressive texture makes this an ideal piece for practical use.
Signed wooden box (shiho-zan) included
Diameter: 6.8cm × 6.3cm, Height: 5.3cm
