Description

This is a *hidaski* (fire-cord) small tea bowl from Yoshinobu Morimoto’s new exhibition. Leveraging the sensibilities he has refined while absorbing and reinterpreting traditional Bizen techniques, he has created a piece with a dynamic form that evokes a spirited and free-flowing temperament. After being hand-molded, the bowl was chamfered, giving it a deeply flavorful texture as if the coarse clay itself is rising to the surface. The striking *hidaski* scenery, achieved through the use of a special clay, appears to emerge from the base as if it were neon-colored. Designed as a versatile small bowl, it can be used for café au lait or matcha, and could also serve as a bowl for various other purposes. Signed wooden box (shiho-zan style)
Diameter 11.3cm × 11.0cm × Height 8.3cm
