Description

This is a Bizen sake cup from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. Drawing on the sensibility he has honed through his ongoing exploration of the input and output of antique Bizen ware, he has crafted a piece with a dynamic form that conveys a free and spirited character. True to Morimoto's style of challenging the masterpieces of antique ceramics, the cup possesses an intensity that makes it feel like a tea bowl distilled into miniature form. A thick, viscous yellow sesame glaze flows down the surface, creating a bold and refined landscape. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 6.9cm x 6.7cm x Height 5.2cm
