Description

This is an Ibe-ware katakuchi (sake pouring vessel) from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. Drawing on the sensibilities he honed while studying and reinterpreting traditional Old Bizen, he has created a form full of dynamic energy that conveys a free and spirited character. Crafted with daily evening drinks in mind as an easy-to-use piece of sake ware, it prioritizes a wabi-sabi aesthetic while ensuring usability and easy maintenance. It is a perfect piece for those just beginning to enjoy sake. The clay body, featuring deep reddish-purple and black tones, is complemented by a rich yellow sesame glaze, giving it a sophisticated charm that is a delight to behold even on its own. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
Diameter 9.9cm x 8.2cm x Height 8.6cm
