Description
This is a Hidasuki sake ewer from Yoshinobu Morimoto's new exhibition. It is part of a series that expresses the world of tea gatherings, featuring formal implements used in tea kaiseki arranged in the Bizen style. By adapting the iron or lacquer ewers used in tea kaiseki into the Bizen tradition, this piece is born from a highly creative vision that truly embodies "creative reproduction." The craftsmanship of the handle and spout rivals the originals; their flawless form is the result of extensive trial and error, opening up a new world previously unseen in Morimoto's work. The Hidasuki markings draped across the toasted, moxa-colored clay surface are not only beautiful in their own right but also elegantly accentuate the lines of the piece.
