Description

A Bizen tea bowl from Yoshinobu Morimoto's latest exhibition. This series recreates the Momoyama period, during which the world of wabi-cha evolved from tea practitioners selecting non-tea items for use in the ceremony to the development of authentic ceramic tea wares. This work is an ambitious attempt to replicate the famous old Bizen tea bowl known as "Tadaima," featuring ingenious details such as the soft sangiri firing and the distinctive construction of the foot. It is crafted to be quite lightweight and easy to handle, possessing the charm of a tea bowl meant for daily use rather than just as a display piece. The deep shiso-purple hue around the foot combined with the vibrant, clear yellow sesame glaze is truly wonderful. Includes signed wooden box (shiho-san style; please allow some time for shipping)
Diameter 14.0cm x 13.4cm x Height 9.0cm
