Description
This Orihi glass is the work of Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create crafts that suit modern life. The "Orihi" (Oribe-Hi-dasuki) technique combines the stain resistance and usability of Oribe glaze with the characteristic aging and mellowing of Bizen clay. The subdued green of the Oribe glaze and the red fire-cord (hi-dasuki) markings complement each other perfectly. The Oribe pattern features a sophisticated lattice design reminiscent of bird feathers.
