Description

This is a brand new Bizen horseback sake cup, fresh from the kiln of Kazuki Nakamura, a potter who creates deeply flavorful works that carry on the legacy of the master sake vessel makers Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. Like those of his grandfather and father, this cup features a thick base and a low center of gravity, giving it a gentle appearance. The front and the foot rim exhibit the vibrant red clay tone that is a hallmark of the Nakamura family, appearing as if it is eagerly waiting for the day it will be seasoned by sake. The interior features an unexpected ash-glazed kiln transformation that covers the surface like a lid, creating a fresh aesthetic unlike any seen before. Signed wooden box (double-slatted)
Diameter 6.3cm × Diameter 6.3cm × Height 6.7cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Makoto Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills. He fired his first kiln and became independent in 2006.
