Description
This is a new Bizen tea cup fresh from the kiln by Takashi Soga, who challenges the beauty of antiquity by recreating the same environment in which Old Bizen was fired. It brilliantly reproduces the texture of Old Bizen, with a unique luster and feel that are truly magnificent. Its smooth and gentle texture not only approaches the beauty of Old Bizen, but is also superb from the perspective of functional beauty; the exquisite finish feels wonderful even just to the touch. Made entirely by hand without the use of an electric potter's wheel, the form, which shows attention to every detail, is surprisingly lightweight.
