Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln, created by Takashi Soga, who challenges the aesthetic of antiquity by recreating the same environment in which Old Bizen pottery was fired. He has masterfully reproduced the texture of Old Bizen, achieving a truly magnificent, unique luster and quality. The earthen character, with its worn-looking areas where iron has erupted and tiny pebbles peek through, exudes an exceptional atmosphere that evokes the essence of Old Bizen. The withered surface comes to life instantly when filled with sake, causing the hidasuki (fire cord) markings in the interior to emerge and reveal a stunning landscape.
