Description
This is a new Bizen sake flask by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the rigorous path of pottery, having been born to his father, the master Susumu Kaneshige. This piece is crafted using clay that has been meticulously refined through water levigation—a rare practice even within the Kaneshige school. While he previously used clay with a coarser, sandier texture, this work features an incredibly fine and smooth surface. It is a work fired to its absolute limit, a rarity even within a single kiln firing, with the gritty ash-covered *yohen* (kiln transformation) and the circular *marunuke* golden highlights creating a hardened, sophisticated atmosphere.
