Description
This is a new Bizen ware sake cup by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and has brought a breath of fresh air to the world of Bizen ware with his exceptional sense and masterful sculpting ability. This sake cup possesses a soft roundness reminiscent of an apple. Created using his signature hand-coiling and spatula-shaping techniques, the unique roundness, the flare of the rim, and the spherical center of gravity create a mysterious balance that is difficult to achieve on a potter's wheel. The amber-colored, perfectly fired surface is adorned with lively sesame glaze and hidasuki (fire-cord) markings, creating a truly sophisticated aesthetic.
