Description
A new Bizen-yaki teacup by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and who is breathing new life into the world of Bizen ware with his exceptional sense and masterful sculpting ability. This design is intentionally the complete opposite of his previous works, with the fresh, wheel-thrown construction featuring a foot. While he previously used a hollowed-out technique, carving the interior to shape his pieces, this teacup only features subtle facets on the exterior, making it a playful creation that could be called "Koichiro: The Reverse Side." Although the design is inverted, the firing is as excellent as ever, packed with the qualities of an anagama kiln, and features a wonderful, fresh, fruit-like scarlet hue.
