Description

This is a Bizen sake cup by Kosuke Kaneshige, leader of the Kaneshige family and son of the legendary Living National Treasure and restorer of Bizen ware, Toyo Kaneshige. This excellent piece features a vivid green matte sesame glaze (kase-goma), synonymous with Kosuke Kaneshige, combined with a sophisticated, metallic-tinged "nuke" firing effect. The interior features a rich, shiso-red clay texture, allowing you to enjoy sake directly from the high-quality clay that defines the Kaneshige tradition. It includes a ceramic history document up to 1982, and the broad seal suggests it dates from that period. (*Please note that this is a pre-owned item and shows slight signs of use.) Signed wooden box (double-crosspiece)
