Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, a master craftsman who carries on the lineage of his father, Makoto Nakamura, and his grandfather, Rokuro Nakamura—both legendary artisans of sake vessels—and creates deeply flavorful works. Having honed his craft over three generations, his creations demonstrate a masterful balance of form and clay texture, meticulously designed for the sole purpose of enjoying sake. The shaved foot is deeply carved with a flowing, undulating quality that makes me feel he is increasingly resembling his grandfather, Rokuro. There is an exceptional synergy between sake, made only from rice and water, and a sake cup, born solely of earth and fire; this pairing is sure to elevate your sake-drinking experience into something profound and refined. Both the interior and the front of the cup exhibit a sophisticated, slightly yellowish scarlet hue, offering both immediate beauty and the joy of watching it develop over time.
