Description
This is the "Red Carbonized Hagakure" sake cup by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. While the avant-garde design, brimming with originality, first catches the eye, holding it in your hands reveals the immense passion poured into expressing the beauty of the clay itself. Creating these beautiful curves and sharp edges requires a deep understanding of the material and an extraordinary amount of time and effort to finish; this piece was born from tirelessly forging the clay, much like a master swordsmith. Named "Red Carbonized Hagakure," this work features sections that have turned silver, giving it an atmosphere reminiscent of *tamahagane* (jewel steel), combined with the form of a forged iron block. The vivid red glaze stands out brilliantly against this, creating a uniquely captivating world.
