Description

This is a new Bizen "nerikomi" (marbled clay) sake cup in white by Koji Nakahara, a student of Fumio Kawabata, who aims to create works that suit contemporary life. The cup features a marble-like surface, created by blending and firing 10 different types of clay. To allow the user to fully appreciate this unique texture, the finish is kept simple with only a *hidasuki* (fire cord) pattern, resulting in a smooth and highly practical piece. Through repeated polishing with sandpaper, the work embodies a highly refined concept focused on showcasing the raw clay. Signed wooden box (double-slatted)
