Description

This 7-sun Bizen ware plate is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who shapes his creations by using the emotions of daily life as a catalyst, following the Bizen tradition that has matured alongside the long, unbroken history of human activity. At approximately 21cm in diameter, it is a highly versatile and easy-to-use plate. The slightly raised rim not only prevents spills but also gives the entire piece a clean, sharp impression. The outer edge is adorned with fine, understated "goma" (sesame) ash glazing, while the interior features deep "hidasuki" (fire-cord) markings. These variations add definition when plating food, and as the dish is consumed, the patterns provide a visual richness that compensates for the decreasing amount of food, making this a vessel that is both practical and a joy to use.
