Description
This is a newly fired Bizen sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superb aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Reflecting the work of an artist who pours his heart into the study of ancient ceramics, this magnificent sake cup features a profound yellow "goma" (ash glaze) fused with a clay surface that possesses a unique allure. The presence of straw mixed within the goma creates a white "ito-goma" (thread-like ash) pattern, evoking the appearance of antique Bizen ware. Furthermore, the texture of the clay, with a slight touch of rawness just before being fully fired, gives it a softness that promises excellent usability over time.
