Description

This is a new Bizen tea cup (gold-decorated) by Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe, has loved Bizen ware since childhood, and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This tea cup is part of the gold-decorated series he challenged himself to create in this kiln, with a scarlet-cord (hidaski) pattern that shines like metal, adorning the surface of the vessel. The base is a matte black created by painted clay, and the scarlet-cord patterns running across this deep, dark canvas create a magnificent scene. The shining scarlet-cord pattern also appears clearly on the inside, allowing you to also enjoy using it as a shochu cup. Paper box
Diameter 8.8cm × 8.6cm × Height 8.2cm Takashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ware artist Shosuke Baba. He became independent in 2007 and held his first solo exhibition. He is currently active, focusing on solo exhibitions at department stores.
