Description
This is a Bizen mukozuke by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, a leading figure of the Kaneshige family. He intentionally eschewed considerations of storage and convenience for this piece, aiming instead for a sculptural style. The playful form features exceptionally sharp, crisp knife work that is so captivating it makes one forget to eat. Crafted using the high-quality clay that is the pride of the Kaneshige family, its fresh, bright brown hue—while appearing simple—possesses a remarkably high-quality texture.
