Description

This is a new Bizen beer mug by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, an inner-circle apprentice of the late master Sozan Kaneshige. It is a latest work fired in the spring of 2016, featuring a magnificent scarlet hue that speaks to a highly successful kiln firing. The scarlet color, which becomes even more beautiful when both the interior and exterior are wet, fully conveys the charm of Bizen sake ware, which is a pleasure to both use and cultivate. The texture of the high-quality rice field clay features very fine ridges that make beer foam finer and more delicious. Cooling the mug before use will enhance the beauty of the surface and provide a wonderful drinking experience. Paper box
Diameter 7.7cm × 7.7cm × Height 12.2cm Yoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. Influenced by his father, who loved pottery, he pursued the path of ceramics. After graduating from high school in 1989, he studied under the father-son duo of Sozan and Yuho Kaneshige to learn the techniques of the craft. After seven years of training, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, in 1996 to strike out on his own, and successfully completed his first firing the following year. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since. In 1999, he exhibited and was selected for the "North Country Confectionery Container Exhibition," and in 2002, he was selected for the "Tea Ceremony Modeling Exhibition" for the first time.
