Hidasuki Hexagonal Sake Cup

This is a new Hidasuki hexagonal sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. True to his reputation as an artist with a passion not only for antique ceramics but also for the study of tea utensils and the way of tea, Morimoto has masterfully captured the tranquil, wabi-sabi world of the original Kiseto hexagonal sake cup through the Hidasuki (fire-cord) technique. The clay used is refined and has a clean texture to match this aesthetic, resulting in a prestigious Hidasuki scene where vibrant, deep red cords are boldly swept across a clear white surface. The interior, designed to be worthy of appreciation as a tea utensil, features a magnificent, full-coverage red Hidasuki glaze, marking this as a tour de force that perfectly crystallizes Morimoto's technical prowess and deep knowledge of tea ceremony wares. Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included.
