Description

This is a new Ibe sake cup by Yuho Kaneshige, the third son of the legendary tea ceramics master Sozan Kaneshige, whose popularity remains unshakable. Aiming for the culmination of a simple yet most difficult path, this piece is like savoring the finest ingredients prepared with the best culinary techniques. By firing the piece within a sagger, the sesame glaze (goma) is kept to the bare minimum, resulting in a work that focuses strictly on the expression of the clay itself, and which feels exceptionally comfortable in the palm of your hand. Thinly turned and highly functional, this sake cup possesses a graceful elegance akin to that of a tea vessel.
