Description
This Bizen tea cup is by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Starting this season, the overall design has been changed to a slightly smaller, elegant square shape. Formed into a square after being thrown on a potter's wheel, the blend of circular and square elements, combined with the *dojime* (waisted) design, evokes a sense of dignity reminiscent of a *fukamukozuke* (deep appetizer dish). The dry yellow sesame glaze (*kigoma*) and the bright brown clay body create a simple, timeless aesthetic that is perfect for everyday use.
