Description
This is a new Bizen sake server by Hisanaga Koide, who has made his long-awaited debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. It features an exceptionally striking, bold firing and a rustic form, in which one can clearly feel the Juro-ism instilled in the work. The clay texture changes significantly between the interior and exterior, a result of the intense firing highlighting the subtle differences in how the fire hit the piece. The exterior is a very smoky purple with a matte finish, which suits the profound yellow sesame glaze and the form perfectly. Inside, the clay seems to have been revitalized, shining with metallic hues, with a faint pearlescent pink glow that is so beautiful it makes you forget to drink when filled with sake.
