Description
This is the latest Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln of Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates deeply flavorful works while carrying on the tradition of the legendary sake cup masters, Rokuro and Makoto Nakamura. Drawing on the ceramic techniques inherited from his grandfather and father—both renowned for their sake vessels—he masterfully expresses a perfect balance of usability, the rustic character of clay, and the ability to enhance the flavor of sake. The combination of scarlet and deep green, immediately recognizable as the Nakamura family style, is typical of a sake vessel crafted by a sake lover; it is designed to allow one to savor the fusion of pottery and sake through the tongue, eyes, and fingers, enabling a deeper enjoyment of sake through the vessel itself. The wide, flared shape is designed to allow the nose to fit comfortably inside, ingeniously enabling the drinker to also enjoy the unique aroma of the sake.
