Description
This is a new Bizen sake carafe by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates deeply evocative works, carrying on the lineage of master sake-ware artisans Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. While following in the footsteps of these masters, this carafe features the unique flair characteristic of Kazuki, subtly distinguishing his style from that of his father and grandfather. The base of this vessel is a bulbous, turnip-shaped form that serves as the foundation for the Nakamura-style flattened sake carafe; when held by pinching the neck, the carafe fits seamlessly into the palm of the hand. The entire surface is wrapped in a sophisticated kiln-altered finish, a mixture of matte *kase* and *sangiri* patterns, which further accentuates the brilliant scarlet *hi-iro* on the front. As you use the carafe, rubbing sake into the surface will cause this front scarlet hue to grow even more beautiful and vibrant.
