Description
This Ibe sake cup was created by Kosuke Yashiro, who spent his formative years dreaming of working with Bizen ware in the town of Ibe, and finally achieved his long-held goal of building his own kiln there to make his debut. It is a quintessential piece of Bizen ware, true to the style of Yashiro-sensei, who has dedicated his life to the craft after falling in love with the works of the many potters who were born, raised, and passed away in Ibe. Characterized by its elegant *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings produced using high-quality clay, the piece features a refined, deep reddish-brown texture achieved through thorough firing. The *hidasuki* appearing only on the foot and the interior provides a subtle yet remarkable presence. This flat-cup style sake vessel is also a perfect introductory piece.
