Description
This is a new Bizen pottery bowl featuring *nerikomi* (marbled clay) by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and strives to create works that suit contemporary life. The bowl is characterized by a marble-like texture achieved by mixing and firing several types of clay. It is formed by coiling ropes of marbled clay onto a base plate that becomes the foot, resulting in a unique, swirling pattern. The marbled clay itself has a smooth, pleasant texture, and combined with Mr. Nakahara's meticulous finishing, the bowl is highly refined as tableware. Despite being pottery, it has a presence reminiscent of woodwork or stonework, and its versatile design makes it suitable for any kind of dish.
