Description

This is a new Bizen sake carafe by Kazuki Nakamura, a creator of profound works who follows in the lineage of the masters of sake vessels, Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura. While inheriting the style of these masters, this carafe also bears the distinct mark of Kazuki’s own artistry, incorporating a unique flair that sets it apart from his father and grandfather. The vessel features the signature flattened shape that makes any Nakamura family piece instantly recognizable, perfectly balancing elegance and power through a form passed down through the generations. The masterful firing process has produced a magnificent scarlet hue just below the spout, an area that will develop a rich patina with the drips of sake as you pour. The vivid, eye-catching scarlet of a ripe persimmon, combined with the slightly whitish, wood-bark-like *kase-goma* (dull ash glaze), will surely provide the owner with endless enjoyment. Signed wooden box (double-braced)
Rim 4.2cm × Body diameter 11.3cm × Body diameter 11.0cm × Height 11.2cm Capacity approx. 430cc Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his ceramic skills. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
