Description

This is "Céladon №6," a rock glass by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative piece, quintessentially Ichikawa, who gives form to his inexhaustible flow of ideas through the supreme medium of clay. As the title "Céladon"—the French word for celadon—suggests, it utilizes a cool, summery celadon glaze to express a new worldview. The ice-blue celadon glaze possesses a refreshing beauty reminiscent of ice, boasting a high degree of perfection characteristic of Ichikawa’s dedicated glaze research. Contrasting with the celadon glaze is a platinum finish that evokes a frozen, silvery landscape, featuring bold cracks that create an intriguing, ice-like scene. Signed wooden box (shiho-san)
