Description

This is a Bizen long plate by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create works that suit contemporary life. This new piece was fired in the Bizen kiln of his mentor, Fumio Kawabata. As an unconventional Bizen potter based in the major city of Osaka, Mr. Nakahara creates pieces for chefs at various high-end restaurants and ryotei; this stylish and practical long plate is a testament to his unique perspective. The clean look of the "hidasuki" (fire-cord) and "goma" (ash glaze) patterns is understated yet refined, serving as a perfect supporting player to enhance the presentation of any dish on your table. The unique, slightly curved form adds a subtle accent, reflecting the refined sense Mr. Nakahara has polished through commissions from Osaka's culinary establishments. Paper box
