Description
This is a "Platinum" glass by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative work that is quintessential of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his endlessly overflowing ideas through the supreme medium of clay. With its early-period design and use of only basic platinum glaze, the piece feels like a return to his roots. The body features a smoky, matte platinum glaze, while the glaze texture utilizes a voluminous, high-gloss platinum glaze, skillfully drawing out a sense of dimension even within a single-color platinum finish.
