Description
This is a new Shigaraki sake bottle by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the demanding path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. It is crafted from high-quality Shigaraki clay left behind by Susumu, resulting in a beautiful, deeply flavorful scarlet texture. Fired in the hottest part of the kiln at the Maruyama-gama, it has absorbed abundant smoke, taking on a natural glaze of yellow, black, and white that beautifully complements the scarlet base. The rim has been shaped into a triangular pouring spout, which, paired with the navel-like indentation in the body, makes it exceptionally easy to pour from.
