Description
This is the new *tokkuri* (sake flask) "Hagakure," a work titled *Re:Re:* by Toru Ichikawa, who made a brilliant debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptional work, rich in the originality characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his ceaselessly overflowing ideas through the supreme medium of clay. This latest work reconstructs his origin—the Hagakure series—in a more refined "Re:" format. While previously it featured a radiant gold glaze, this piece has transitioned to a more subdued, copper-toned gold, giving it an entirely different aesthetic from earlier Hagakure works. However, the Hagakure crimson glaze, which appears like a single ray of light, remains, and the change in the overall glaze tone creates a more delicate impression.
