Glass S- "Premium Edition"

This is the new "S-Premium Edition" glass by Toru Ichikawa, who studied under Ryuichi Kakinuma and made a striking debut. It is a work of exceptional originality, characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who brings his endless stream of ideas to life through the supreme medium of clay. As a special piece even among his Shino-style works, it is titled "S-Premium Edition," taking the "S" from "SHINO." It achieves a balance between the intriguing qualities of the intensely burnt feldspar glaze and the fascination of the ceramic itself, where the red clay body shows through to create a pinkish glaze tone. This is also an ambitious work born from an extremely unconventional firing process, during which he opened the gas kiln and, wearing firefighter's protective clothing, applied ash glaze to the piece inside.
