Description

This Bizen rice bowl is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who transforms the everyday emotions he experiences into form, inspired by Bizen ware that has matured alongside the continuous activities of human life. While many Bizen rice bowls have a gentle finish typical of mountain clay, this piece reflects Taku’s strong commitment to a refined, wabi-sabi aesthetic. It features the rich, vibrant coloration characteristic of Taku, who is also a clay enthusiast, while the *hidasuki* (fire-cord) pattern on the interior resembles the skin of a perfectly ripened apple. The thin, careful craftsmanship and high foot make it easy to use, resulting in a piece that can be enjoyed both visually and functionally. Paper box
