Description
This is a newly kiln-fired sake bottle titled "Blue Gradation: HIDEYOSHI" by Toru Ichikawa, an artist who made a sensational debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative piece that embodies Mr. Ichikawa’s signature style of giving form to his endless stream of ideas through the supreme medium of clay. This sake bottle is part of his new "Blue Gradation" series, in which the blue hue develops during firing through a controlled cooling process. The color is not merely eye-catching; it is a vivid, intense blue that leaves a lasting impression on the viewer. As the subtitle "HIDEYOSHI" suggests, the brilliant gold body creates a magnificent, flamboyant scene that would surely have delighted Toyotomi Hideyoshi himself. While the vibrant blue and gold are particularly striking, they are brought together by an equally remarkable and daring form.
