Description
This is the latest sake flask, "Hagakure 2018," freshly pulled from the kiln by Toru Ichikawa, who made a stunning debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally inventive piece, characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his endlessly overflowing ideas through the supreme medium of clay. This is the 2018 version of the "Hagakure" series, a recurring theme throughout his work. In this iteration, a thin layer of white glaze is applied over a silver surface with a concrete-like texture, creating a vista that makes the vividness of the Hagakure red glaze stand out even more. The base surface has a weathered, brushed appearance and a unique, smooth texture, showcasing an evolution in glaze tone befitting the name "Hagakure 2018."
