Description

This is the new "Kagutsuchi" beer tumbler "Ki" by Toru Ichikawa, who made a sensational debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative work that is quintessential of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his endlessly overflowing ideas through the supreme medium of clay. This is the latest 2018 version of the Kagutsuchi series, which became popular for its intense "kairagi" glaze, and the hail-like white glaze is truly eye-catching. The pure white Kagutsuchi glaze is so delicate that one might mistake it for something that would melt at a touch, but its interaction with the underlying Bizen clay body will surely make your beer taste even better. The customary gold accents are also blended into the white glaze, looking as if gold is shimmering amidst a sky full of falling hail—a truly spectacular sight. Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
Diameter 7.4cm x Diameter 7.2cm x Height 11.4cm Toru Ichikawa was born in Tokyo. He began his apprenticeship under Ryuichi Kakurezaki in June 2011 and became independent in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, in January 2015.
