Description

This is a new Bizen tea cup by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates works of profound depth, carrying on the legacy of the master sake vessel makers, Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura. While following in the footsteps of these masters, this cup bears Kazuki’s signature style, infusing a unique character that distinguishes it from the works of his father and grandfather. Inheriting the wide-rimmed design of his grandfather, Rokuro, it is perfectly suited for use as a shochu cup, as befits a family renowned for their sake vessels. The remarkably light, deft carving around the rim and the foot provides an excellent accent to the design, lending the piece a subtle, exquisite allure rarely found in a tea cup. The clay itself is incredibly fine-grained, and as it is used, it will become increasingly seasoned, evolving into a softer, smoother texture. Paper box
