Description

This is a new Oribe-Hidasuki long plate by Koji Nakahara, a student of Fumio Kawabata, who strives to create works that suit modern life. This Oribe-Hidasuki piece is designed to offer both the stain resistance and ease of use provided by the Oribe glaze, and the aesthetic evolution and functional benefits characteristic of Bizen clay. While preserving the evolving beauty and comfort of Bizen clay, the outer edge is reinforced with Oribe glaze, enhancing its perfection as tableware. The meticulous craftsmanship typical of Nakahara is excellent, and the plate is neither too heavy nor too light, making it easy to store and very convenient to handle. The corners, which are prone to chipping, have been clipped, a detail that reflects Nakahara's thoughtful attention to design. No box
