Description

This Bizen kyusu (teapot) is the work of Masao Akiya, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works full of unique originality with a fresh sensibility. Although titled as a "kyusu," it is crafted like a teapot, making it suitable for both Japanese and Western styles. While Bizen clay is characterized by high heat retention, the brass handle prevents heat conduction, making it easy to use. True to the anagama kiln firing, the piece has an overall reddish texture, but rather than an intense, glaring red, it possesses a calm hue that feels like a natural extension of the earth. No box
