Description
This is the new "Liberalism Ver. 6.21.2" rock glass by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative work that is quintessential Ichikawa, giving form to his ceaseless flow of ideas through the supreme medium of clay. True to the title "Liberalism," he focuses on bold expression through the use of glazes while strictly adhering to Bizen clay. As an upgraded version of Liberalism, this piece takes on the challenge of a daring landscape where red glaze emerges from a deep, lustrous black as if seen through a thermograph. It features a complex black glaze that incorporates a variety of hues, containing immense depth with numerous colors such as brownish sections and areas that gleam with a steel-like blue depending on how the light hits it. The interior bowl has a different charm from the exterior, appearing as if a deep purple has thickened and blackened.
