Description
This is a sake bottle, *God is love "new bubbles"*, by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative piece, characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his ceaseless flow of ideas through the supreme medium of clay. The "Bubbles" series is beautiful for its bubbling gold glaze, which looks as if molten gold has been poured directly over the piece; this work has been reborn as *God is love new bubbles*, further refining Ichikawa-sensei’s characteristically bold expression. Particularly eye-catching is the "LOVE" featured in the title, painted in crimson glaze; the way the crimson glaze intertwines with the platinum finish gives it a sensuality that feels almost organic. This sake bottle allows one to enjoy both Ichikawa-sensei’s philosophical themes and his bold glaze techniques.
